So I guess if any of you are actually following along you would have realized that this 30 Day Challenge is indeed a challenge. My computer is now on its last days and will have to be replaced as soon as possible (MAC BOOK PRO, too excited!). So hold your horses, and I hope to be back in as little time as possible!
I found this interesting "challenge" on Facebook the past few days but I figured I could do it on here and get some more posts in! I guess that will be the challenge part of it, posting consistently. It is a 30 day challenge with different requirements everyday, I guess you'll just have to keep checking back to see what they all are!
Day 1- A Picture of Yourself with 10 Facts
1. I love school, learning and being a study bug.
2. I'm never a lazy dresser, always dressed to the nines.
3. I have a genetic chromosomal abnormality, it's called red hair.
4. I don't really enjoy the outdoors.
5. My new breakfast staple is a cheddar and garlic bagel with herb and garlic cream cheese and a banana (on the side).
6. I don't like using a purse.
7. I can admit that yes I am a woman and I am not the best driver.
8. I am obsessed with planning things out: my day, my courses, my life, etc.
9. I am a chronic procrastinator but I have found nothing wrong with that as of yet.
I found an interesting view on university life somewhere on the internet. It said that there is no season of "Autumn" in university. There are three different seasons that together make up the period of this so called "Autumn": midterms, term papers, and studying. Then there is Winter...final essays, finals and major studying.
I've moved on to the papers portion of Autumn. I currently have at least three papers on the works and a few labs. Craziness. I spend a lot of time at the library now, well more than usual. But what saddens me is finals. How the heck am I going to walk home at midnight in winter?! It's going to be freezing cold. Brrr, depressing just to think about.
School is going great though, most of my midterms went very well! One in stats, I was a little pissy about and had no problem telling the prof, so I guess we will see how that one goes. Haven't gotten back the mark yet. Everything seems to be coming together though, life is awesome and can't help being happy!
Just as I went to bed so happily last night I woke up and found my class at the end of my first class looking in my bag to see that I had forgotten my small assignment for the second class. FREAKOUT MODE! Thank goodness I had my laptop with me. I needed to buy a print card from this machine so I could use the library printers. It only accepts actual loonies to pay for the card so then I had to get change for quarters and dimes. After that I had to put more money on to the card so I had credit, the only thing I had was $10 so there went my lunch money. THEN I had to connect to the internet (10 minutes on this stupid PC!), recover my assignment because I didn't save it and then send it to myself. Go on a library computer, open the attachment and print it. Then go to one of the printing computers, insert my print card, AND then print and run to class. But everything is good! Just like it always is.
I am currently sitting in class, a pretty useless class. We are discussing if altruism is an adaptive behavior or an instinctive behavior. But I'm sitting here thinking to myself, there is no way you can ever really know unless you take a newborn baby and isolate it from the entire world. Because no matter who you are raised by nice people, murders, drug addicts, wolves, you are going to receive an outlook of experience and learn from that. You will learn through observations or direct verbal telling of how to conduct yourself. So are humans really as great as we think they are? Probably not. Maybe yes and maybe no.
Even in university classes you can't really get notes from someone else unless you provide them with something useful, like giving other notes or midterms or something else useful in the course. (I missed a class yesterday and it's a struggle to get notes).
The computer I am currently using shouldn't be considered a modern day laptop. Okay that's a lie, it's not THAT bad but I mean there are multiple parts cracking, keyboard is missing keys and the battery life is about...2 minutes. So what is really the point of this particular post?
PC OR MAC.
I already know what I'm leaning towards and I don't even think asking for other people's thoughts will change that opinion but here goes it. Out of all my friends here at higher education institutions, those with PCs have problems out the wazoo and the Mac people...content as can be. I know it's expensive and a "culture" but I mean it's just a computer, a computer that works and will last through my full day of classes! (PLUS this means I could potentially even BLOG more!...potentially).
Don't you just love it when rainy days make you happy? I wear my brand new rain boots with my gorgeous purple coat and my large umbrella and nothing can stop me! It's strange how material things can affect your mood so much, but sadly it's true. I mean sure, I could be happy without my amazing things but could I really enjoy the rain with soaking wet, soggy, grandma-like feet, acid rain in my hair or not wearing such a gorgeous purple coat? Definitely not.
Couldn't think of a title for this moment so I looked outside my window and that is what we got :)
I planned my entire undergrad life last night, down to the exact semester until graduation. Why? 1. Because I'm a little crazy organized like that and 2. Need to figure out my life in order to go to Europe.
Oh but wait, today I got to check what time classes are next semester and BOOM two very important classes at the exact freaking time! My whole night's worth of work just forgotten (not really, we can fix this...I hope). My other options? Hope they open more classes with different times or take a class with weird first years in my last semester of my Bachelor's degree (GROSS!) haha just kidding.
There is a link on my blog to my Tumblr, please check it out! I don't post too often on it but today I did and it's really worth looking into.
